The Flower contrasts a utopian society that freely farms and consumes a pleasure giving flower with a society where the same flower is illegal and its consumption is prohibited. The animation is a meditation on the social and economic costs of marijuana prohibition. The prohibition cost 25,000 deaths in mexico alone so far, it created the shady black market that allows for gang violence instead of having it taxed, regulated, and sold over the counter just like alcohol and asprin.
Allow hemp to be cultivated and add a whole job sector in that alone, not to mention any of the jobs that could come from the tens of thousands of uses for hemp in the production field.

its really annoying how people get way fucked up on alcohol and weed pretty much just makes you feel happy, yet alcohol is still legal? it makes no sense.
I want to do everything I can to legalize marijuana and plan on doing so for the rest of my life. It’s surprising how such a simple thing as a cartoon can so accurately depict the state that this country is in right now. God help us all and the fight that we all sacrifice so much for.

that would be the point. alcohol is legal is it not? and that has all the affects you described. i would even go as far to say that alcohol alters your judgment far worse than marijuana. it would be less of a stretch to believe that you could tell yourself you are to high to drive than to tell yourself you’re to drunk to drive. it will most likely be legally treated similar to alcohol.

An interesting angle on this debate. I have never smoked at all myself. I think it should be used for medicinal purposes most definitely, after seeing my father suffer the pain of terminal cancer, this might have eased his way… but i’m still not so sure on the legalization of say, a marijuana cigarette for sale. It is, after all, a drug which alters coordination, concentration and perception and if one were to drive under that influence, it would be no different than dwi.

@aroochild I think its should be available medically but not recreationally. No, I do not have a medical cannabis card. It’s has medical benefits and should be used for medical reasons.

I got: Depersonalization, anxiety and depression after smoking a fat blunt probably lazed with something nasty. Me and my friend got totally buttfucked from the blunt and my friend ended up 3miles away from me, and I seriousely don’t remember shit from that night. We need legalization so that the fucked up street weed(in Norway) will go away. In b4 “that’s just good shit man”, bcuz it was not, I have smoked quite a few times in my life
