I redid “Where Have All The Flowers Gone” video and changed the music to Eve of Destruction, by Barry McGuire. I think it’s a better version. We saw war every night on our 6 o clock news. These images informed our waking fears. People who are younger, who were born post Vietnam only know war as an abstract. Bush kept horrific images of the reality from appearing. Not even the sterile images of soldiers in coffins draped with flags coming off a plane were permitted. @finefilth We were fighting Russia through Korea and Vietnam it was to stop the spread of communism to both south Korea and South Vietnam we were not successful in Vietnam but we were in Korea South Korea is now one of our Allies and we protect them from the north. In 1989 communism fell in Russia and stopped helping Vietnam. How Communism spread too those two countries was through China and Russia spread it to China where Mao Zedong Started it. WAR…!?! Who should go and Who should stay? My Father was in WW2, Korea, Vietnam. My StepFather was in WW2 and Korea. My Uncle was in WW2, Korea, Viet Nam. My Half-Brother in Viet Nam and Central America. And then there’s ME…VietNam, Nicaragua, Grenada, Caribbean Drug Patrol, Haitian Interdiction, Mutanies, Alien Interdiction. My dad served in the Marines during Korea,I served in the USMC [Missed 'nam by a whisker]and my son did two tours in Iraq as a Special Forces medic.My wife’s dad served in Europe during WW II in the Army.The torture chambers and rape rooms in Iraq weren’t shut down by the local chapter of the ACLU or moveon.org,they were shut down and put out of business by coalition troops.God bless them all,they are our best and brightest

@3069mark : Why do we have to continue to wage war in Iraq and Afghanistan? Al Qaeda isn’t even in Afghanistan and the ramifications of our war there such as civilian deaths are actually helping terrorist networks to recruit. Both Iraq and Afghanistan are still political messes despite the hundreds of thousands (could be millions) of lives that have already been lost. In Afghanistan, violence is on the rise and there are no signs it is going to subside any time soon.
